Leicestershire Highways Authority have advised me that for this 'No Cycling' sign...
"there is no trace of an order being made and I suspect the 'no cycling sign' was simply put up on site without the associated written order.'
They have said (Feb 2007) that it will be taken down. (They did: see #11064.)

I asked them because further down this 'walk' there are motor vehicles.

Note: This admission by the Highways Authority places a question mark over all similar signs in the area formerly adminstered by Hinckley and Bosworth Borough council.
