The pavement from the end of Hinckley to the start of Barwell village is extremely narrow and when walkers and cyclists are using it there is no space to walk or cycle at a safe distance from the person you are passing. There is a huge grass verge between the path and Ashby Road which could be used to widen the path as well as make a cycle lane. The path from the Ashby Road crossroads into Barwell village on Hinckley Road desperately needs widening, this would require taking away the hedge boundary of the farmland? This is a necessity even without Covid for the safety of the public who use this route for walking, running and cycling, and could encourage more people outdoors and improve public health and well being.
