[Image taken 11.2.22] Lidl, Foss Islands, York. [Note: No streetview at this location.] What do people on cycles (including 'York'cycles that are bespoke or adapted designs for carrying dependants, people you care for, and/or luggage) spend in a single shop? And how does the spend compare with that of someone who drives to the supermarket? I will continue to ask supermarkets to undertake or let me try to find out the spend for one car parking space in one hour compared with the spend for the cycle racks in the same-sized space during the same time. I remain incredulous supermarkets are unaware of this gap in their knowledge or uninterested. It's important for planners and people who cycle to know as well: I think it will make a case for more cycle parking. And for better positioned and spaced provision. But here is the bill for someone who used a trailer for their Lidl shop. On this visit the person spent £59.17.
