To access the bin from the pathway pedestrians have to cross the cycleway. The bin previously was beside the pavement on the grass which was a better location.
Dreadful footway shared use cycling scheme in Earl Shilton. At best the highway authority is trying to do something, but putting cyclists and pedestrians into conflict is not the answer.

This is an extremely busy road into Desford, with HGVs and buses driving at speed around often blind corners. There is not even a pavement in many places, yet it’s a key part of many students’ commute to a large secondary school. It’s an … [more]
There's a bridleway from here that ends about half a mile away towards Thornton. Pave/gravel it and extend it to Thornton so kids from Bagworth can get to school by bike in Thornton and South Charnwood.
A narrow footpath encircles Stamford Memorial Park which many children and families used to cycle around safely (learning to ride bikes, safe leisure activity away from roads etc.). However, cyclists have now been banned from using the … [more]
Lots of cyclists and walkers go from Groby to Newton Linford and vice versa. We really need the road widening to make a cycle path one side and a pavement for walkers the other side.
The pavement from the end of Hinckley to the start of Barwell village is extremely narrow and when walkers and cyclists are using it there is no space to walk or cycle at a safe distance from the person you are passing. There is a huge … [more]

The pavement from Bowling Green Road junction with Leicester Road and then all along Leicester Road to the school is too narrow. As it serves two schools who encourage cycle and scooter usage but is also very narrow commuting times are … [more]
The footpath on the A50 north, from Wallace Drive to Field Head is not blessed with many pedestrians I encourage that it includes a cycle track - to keep cyclists of the very busy road
Leicester road traveling between Sacheverell Way and Marston Drive, (northbound) the road is single width. reduce by white markings, cyclists can avoid the outer lane by riding on the white chevrons but are forced in 3 places because of … [more]
Cycle path to nowhere. This section needs to join up to the Dodwells junction which also has a path to nowhere. Well used route, check where the grass has worn away due to pedestrian / cycle traffic.
Not wide enough to allow 2 bikes or even 1 bike and a pedestrian. Barriers need moving, there should be enough space.
This would be a good roundabout to add in a Dutch Style to give pedestrians and cyclists priority over traffic. The roundabout is a huge size and with some improving a dutch style would work here.
No pedestrian/bicycle crossing signals. It is really dangerous crossing here. You cant see the car signals and you dont know who is going when or where. This junction is a fatal incident waiting to happen.
A shared bicycle pathway here would be much better. The road is very busy and bicycle usage is rising fast. Traffic is very high speed.
Regular sweeping needed in autmn / winter as tree debris makes riding surface slippery / dangerous for users.
Shared use facility stops abruptly with dismount / proceed on foot sign. Cyclists are then forced onto dual carriageway with HGV traffic.
Hazardous crossing for peds / cyclists. Limited visibility, 60mph traffic, well used by peds / cyclists and equine users.
A wide cycle way to allow children and young people to cycle to and from both St Margaret’s and St Martin’s schools.

A wide cycle way on both sides of Stoke Lane, to connect Stoke Golding to the edge of Hinckley. Most cycle paths are purely of token width, allowing cyclists to bump along In the potholes and drains. The outer edge of the cycle way should … [more]
Cycle priority is needed along whole of perimeter road. Cyclists are required to give way not only at side roads but also factory entrances! On balance I feel safer on the road where I at least have priority.
Ridiculously narrow cycle lane markings on both sides of the roundabout on A47 to the Leicester side of the roundabout. Remove them, or make them 1.5m wide as they should be!
Fast road, with poor sightlines often used by tired foreign HGV drivers in a hurry! Needs a dedicated off-road cycle lane in both directions.
High speed traffic, narrow road, awfully dangerous. Close to quiet road past Burbage common so add a bike lane.

Current advisory cycle way is nowhere near wide enough and does not stop drivers from driving in it. The cycle way just ends at the roundabout and does not join up with anything useful. Could join up with the hotel and the road out to … [more]
Prevent vehicles (primarily of homeowners) driving on the shared use path against the direction of traffic on the A50 to reach Markfield Rd. Dangerously unsafe and occurring several times daily.
Wide footway could easily be a shared facility, rather than narrow length of on-road cycleway on road
The shared use crossing point is very narrow and difficult to negotiate - ensure all crossing points are on desire lines and provide smooth transitions for journeys
Cycle route 2 ends around here but there should be provisions to extend it up Newtown Linford Ln, giving cyclists a safe route from Leicester centre into Bradgate Park.
Catchment school for Bagworth is in Nailstone. Children can’t cycle safely along this stretch of wood road between Cinamon the and Range road. Mixed cycle way/pavement would be great.

Road is too narrow and people now park both sides meaning sometimes you can't even get through, needs yellow lines
There is a lot of bicycle traffic here due to the staff of the Poundstretcher warehouse travelling to and from work. There has been few minor accidents as the road is dark and narrow with no bicycle lane and cars often speeding.
Drivers storing vehicles on shared surface, forcing pedestrians and cyclists into dual carriageway (been reporting to council and police for over 10 years)
A white line is no protection from 60+mph traffic including many trucks. Segregation of wide cycle lane required
Road leads to Burbage common road- nice quiet road for cycling but impossible to get there safely. 40mph limit ignored by most drivers. V dangerous. Cycle lane required
The secondary school on this road needs a safe cycle way. This will encourage cycling to school and decrease the amount of cars dropping off those students
Existing segregated cycleway is currently only suitable for one direction of traffic, not two-way. It needs resurfacing and widening.
This sign has evolved to grow up through the dense foliage and flower to reveal it's vital message: Cyclists Dismount to warn of the unmarked crossing of an industrial road.
(2) Surface of cycle track washed away, exposing large stones underneath, making riding hazardous. Also Link to this photo: #45167
